An AI journaling app that turns private conversations into a dated, searchable journal, and remembers your context between entries.
Free and private
Private AI Journaling App That Remembers You
The Mirror is a free, private AI journaling app. You talk, it asks the next honest question, and it remembers what you have told it so your journal builds itself instead of staring back at a blank page.
It is not a therapist and it does not diagnose or treat anything. It is a quiet place to think out loud and see your own patterns over time.
- Entries encrypted, data owned by you.
- Nothing shared unless you export it.
- Guest mode: reflect without an account.
Free for individuals on the web and on iPhone. No ads, and nothing about you is sold.
Crisis reminder
Need immediate or emergency help?
The Mirror cannot dispatch emergency services or monitor you in real time. If language feels urgent, contact live crisis counselors or local responders right away.
Privacy first
A HIPAA aligned AI journaling app built around your privacy
A journal only works if you can be honest in it, so protecting what you write is the starting point, not an afterthought.
Encryption
Entries are encrypted
Everything you write is protected with 256-bit encryption, both in transit and at rest.
Ownership
Your data stays yours
Your entries belong to you, not to us. Nothing reaches anyone else unless you explicitly choose to export and share it.
Standards
HIPAA aligned, audited
The Mirror is built to HIPAA aligned standards and undergoes regular audits. Clinicians who want a Business Associate Agreement can request one at /baa-request.php. Read the full detail on our security page.
Mood over time
An AI mood tracking journal that reads your entries, not a 1-10 scale
Most mood trackers ask you to rate your day on a scale and call it done. The Mirror reads what you actually wrote and reflects your emotional weather back to you across weeks, not a single number.
No forced ratings
You never have to reduce a hard day to a number. You write in your own words, and the mood comes from the language itself.
Mood across entries, not one entry
One entry is a feeling. Weeks of entries are a shape. The Mirror notices when your mood is lifting, flattening, or circling the same low, and names it in plain language.
Pattern recognition
An AI pattern recognition journaling tool for what you keep returning to
A single conversation is a moment. The Mirror's real work happens across many of them, when it can start pointing at the shape underneath.
Recurring themes
What keeps coming back
The same worry, the same relationship, the same decision you have not made. The Mirror names recurring themes plainly instead of leaving you to notice them alone.
What you avoid
The threads you sidestep
Sometimes what you do not say is the pattern. The Mirror gently follows the thread you keep changing the subject away from.
Drifted intentions
What you meant to do
Goals and intentions you mentioned once and never returned to. The Mirror can surface them, so you decide whether to pick them back up.
Memory
An AI journal that remembers you
You should not have to explain your own life over again every time you open a journal. The Mirror remembers what you have already told it, so each conversation picks up where the last one left off.
No restating your context
Names, situations, and ongoing decisions carry forward, so you can go straight into what is on your mind today.
Continuity, not a blank page
Because it remembers, the Mirror can ask a better next question, one grounded in what you actually said last time rather than a generic prompt.
Common questions
Questions about the private AI journaling app
Is my journal private?
Yes. Entries are encrypted and your data stays owned by you, not by us. Nothing is shared with anyone, including a clinician, unless you explicitly export and send it yourself.
Does it work without an account?
Yes. Guest mode lets you try a reflection with no signup at all. Creating an account is only what lets The Mirror remember you the next time you come back.
Is it free on iPhone?
Yes. The Mirror is free for individuals on the App Store for iPhone, and the web app works the same way in any browser with the same account.
Can I share entries with my therapist?
If you choose to. You can export a PDF summary and send it to a clinician yourself; The Mirror never sends anything on your behalf. It is also not a replacement for therapy, and if you are in crisis, our crisis resources page lists immediate human support.
